Facebook Buffy Phone
You get the product, then the video about the product, then the book, the cap, the t-shirt, the mug, the chewing gum and then the phone. The latter gadget is the obvious addition for any brand that aspires to be noticed everywhere all the time.
So it’s only obvious that a brand as big as Facebook would have a phone. It’s be rumored for some time that there will be a Facebook phone and now it seems closer than ever, under the project code name “Buffy.” Read more…

HTC – quite brilliantly
The official pay-off line for HTC, the Taiwanese phone maker, is “Quietly brilliant.” But with their awesome range of products HTC has been all but quite. They have been brilliant, too.
The media is abuzz about the HTC Sensation 4G with its Snapdragon 1.2Ghz dual core CPU and qHD display running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
PCWorld calls the Sensation 4G a “Beautiful, Duel-Core Beast,” pointing out that because the display – with Gorilla Glass protection – is slightly concave, it won’t get scratched if you lay it face down. Read more…
Never lose anything in the dark again
“I’m so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark.” That was what Mohammad Ali said about himself. For the rest of us there still can be a bit of light between the switch and the bed. Or anywhere else for that matter. Thanks to a nice little gadget called the Nite Glowring.
Little it is. Only 0.4 x 1.9 inches (10 x 48 mm). The perfect keyring. Add to it the following:
1. Self powered light source – GTLS Illumination gives up to 20 years continuous glow;
2. Visibility of 20ft (6m), increasing the darker it gets;
3. Waterproof up to 100 ft (30m). Read more…
Nokia N8 for guys who prefer the fuller figure
It brings back memories of The Beautiful South’s song Perfect 10. “She could be … bustin’ out at the seams, it’s still love in the first degree.” The Nokia N8 is a bit chunky – perfect for guys who prefer the fuller figure. “‘Cause we love our love in different sizes.”
Nokia made a big hoo-ha of the N8. This was meant to launch Nokia deep into smartphone territory dominated by iPhone and HTC. Early reviews of the N8, however, sang a different tune. Engadget likes the multitasking capabilities: “Multitasking was another big feature touted by Nokia and it deserves to be. Described as the proper, full fat variety, it’s implemented pretty darn well here.” But points out that “the OS (Symbian^3) is so far from being fully baked we can still see the dough.”
PCWorld says the Nokia N8 feels “slightly on the chunky side, measuring 0.5-inches thick (for comparison, the iPhone 4 Read more…
Good-looking Samsung Wave
Apple’s iPhone 4G might take the top spot on wish lists for cell phones but it is in no way the one and only smart phone with brains and beauty. HTC, Motorola, Nokia and new smart phones from China all play the game well. Each of the operating systems also have their pluses and minuses. So it might be down to the price. In which case, the Samsung Wave could be what you want.
The 1Ghz Hummingbird processor runs apps and features well on the new Bada operating system, particularly video. The Super AMOLED screen is bright and boasts one of the best touch response times on the market.
For the price, the Samsung Wave S8500 is hard to beat. It also is a very good looking cell phone. Read more…
HP Compaq 8000f Ultra Slim green desktop PC
Ultra slim PCs are sexy. When they happen to be green, meaning more environment-friendly than their polyvynil-heavy competitors, they’re super sexy.
And so it is with the Hewlett-Packard Compaq 8000f Ultra Slim Desktop PC, being named Best in Show at CES 2010 by Greenpeace, who called it the industry’s first Microsoft Windows based desktop to be free of brominated flame retardants (BFRs) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) “from the wall to the mouse.”
Best little twitter app
Twitter is more than just a micro-blogging services. It has grown into a massive messaging social network supported by a myriad of apps thanks to the open source attitude by founders Jack Dorsey and Biz Stone. The viral buzz is a result of its ease of use and connectivity across many media platforms. Forget texting your vote to X-Factor or other interactive TV shows – soon you’ll just twitter your vote (or opinion).
The twitter pay-off line is “What are you doing?” but the emphasis is on “stay connected.” And one of the best little desktop apps to stay connected with via twitter is the ADA by madan.org. It runs on Windows, using Adobe Air. It is little because it is a small program that loads fast and is simply super-easy to use but it is big on speed; proper click-and-go in every sense.
Palm Pre creating big buzz with iPhone comparison
Is the Pre Palm’s big moment? It has already created a big buzz before its launch on June, 6th with loads of phone comparison sites asking the question, “Is the Palm Pre better than the iPhone?” No-one will stick their neck out because Apple is about to launch a newer version of the iPhone, possibly a day or two before the Palm Pre hits the stores.
The Palm Pre impresses with its innovative touch screen and an easy to use menu and camera. There will also be a host of apps available for the Palm Pre. Read more…
